The thing is that we have control of our time.  You and I consented to everything on our schedule.  We pretend our activities are externally driven.  The truth is that we are compelled to do nothing.   How we spend our time shows what we value.  We choose.  Only we choose.  I’m writing this to ask you to share some of your time with me.  No, I’m not asking because I am particularly interesting.  Instead I am asking because I am willing to share some of my time with you.  I’ve chosen that I want to use some of my time helping others.    How about you?  Will you spend some of your time with us helping others?

The task before us is worthy.  We are making quilts so that homeless people do not have to sleep on the ground in the summer and so that they can stay warm on cold days.  It is a small thing but yet, it is a good thing.  Isn’t that a good way to spend a morning or afternoon?   Project H.O.P.E. is the group we’re helping.  Everyday these people make room on their schedule to keep homeless people alive.  Won’t it be an honor to stand with them shoulder to shoulder in this work?
