The thing is that we have control of our time. You and I consented to everything on our schedule. We pretend our activities are externally driven. The truth is that we are compelled to do nothing. How we spend our time shows what we value. We choose. Only we choose. I’m writing this to ask you to share some of your time with me. No, I’m not asking because I am particularly interesting. Instead I am asking because I am willing to share some of my time with you. I’ve chosen that I want to use some of my time helping others. How about you? Will you spend some of your time with us helping others?

The task before us is worthy. We are making quilts so that homeless people do not have to sleep on the ground in the summer and so that they can stay warm on cold days. It is a small thing but yet, it is a good thing. Isn’t that a good way to spend a morning or afternoon? Project H.O.P.E. is the group we’re helping. Everyday these people make room on their schedule to keep homeless people alive. Won’t it be an honor to stand with them shoulder to shoulder in this work?

Thursday Night Open Mic - These events welcome performers and our neighbors in to share there talents. Most often they are THEMED events. Recently we sponsored a "JAZZ Night". See Highlight footage here! Other events have been, "Comedy Night" - for local comedians, "Soap Box Night" - for free expression of political ideas and ideals, "Gospel Night" - where the faithful celebrate God, and "It's Our Turn" - truly free form Open Mic. As interest and audience grows, we will expand the themes to accomodate the tastes of our neighbors. These events generally start at 7:00pm.

Saturday Night Spotlight Performance - These events featured top flight local talents. Our House Band, BLACK COFFEE - will be debuting in March. We will leave notices here when other acts are booked.

Sunday Morning Tip Jar - These performances are ad hoc ambiant occurances that come free with your morning brunch at South Jersey Java.

Continuation of South Jersey for Change work. This meeting helped understand what South Jersey for Change will do next. The Group decided to do something to help our returning soldiers and officers.

Everyone is invited to do their homework. Communicate findings to group through the blog of mybarackobama.com and or facebook and come prepared with ideas of how we can be on service.

Also, remember South Jersey for Change is collecting DVDs to send to injured soldiers in military hospitals. Drop them of at South Jersey Java, 1201 Haddonfield-Berlin Road, Voorhees NJ 08043.

Combined with our world famous South Jersey Java Fresh coffee and lattes, and the Choclate Fountain of Love for dipping your favorite fruits and treats, the night will be all about the LOVER in you.
